Anan Creek is the site of one of Alaska's greatest pink salmon runs. The fish are slowed by a waterfall half a mile inland, which attracts large numbers of hungry brown and black bears. During the salmon run, sea otters, harbor seals and bald eagles can also be spotted along the shore near the mouth of Anan Creek. A young brown bear and a juvenile bald eagle are both learning to fish during the abundant salmon run. |
